Gr. 1 students became interested in building their own structure. Their teacher helped them make connections to shapes in geometry, to structures and mechanisms in science and to the built features of a community in social studies. As well, the students shared their experiences, their ideas and questions both orally and in writing. They read stories about structures and they researched what it takes to make a strong structure.
This is the 'school' they built in their classroom!
